Ferns Active Retirement

The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 13th in The Courtyard. The guest speaker Denis O'Connor will speak on Self Help. This will be at 2.30p.m. instead of 3p.m so hopefully everyone will be there on time. There will be Bowls on Tuesday March 6th at 2.30p.m Contact Colm Morris on 086-3866582

Ferns & District GPA

will hold their AGM on March 14th in the Community Centre. All members are asked to attend. Any new members who wish to join the Club are welcome too.

Medieval Banquet

Ár mBréacha House of Storytelling, is hosting a Medieval Banquet in The Courtyard on the eve of St. Patrick's Day, Friday, March 16th. This Banquet is a showpiece and a window into dinging and entertaining in Ireland in medieval times. Ár mBréacha seeks to tell the story of Ireland of the journey of the Irish people to where we are today. Fr. Jim Finn, Chairman of Ár mBréacha, stresses the importance of connecting with our past in order to move towards the future. This year there will be a meal designed around how people dined in 13th and 14th century Ireland. Guests will be introduced to some Irish musical tunes coming from Ireland's past as well as having some mythological and traditional storytelling.

Interested in wildlife and nature?

Ferns Tidy Towns has been granted funding to run an Irish Wildlife Trust programme involving workshops and surveys of Ferns which will result in a 3 – 5 year Biodiversity Plan for Ferns. If you have an interest or knowledge of wildlife and nature in our area and would like to get involved in implementing the Plan we’d like to hear from you. The workshop will be held on March 21st at 2.30. Please ring Catherine on 087-4189740 for further details and to book a place.

Clonee Ladies Football Club

Clonee Ladies Football Club will hold a fashion show in the Ashdown Hotel on March 29th at 8p.m. Tickets on sale soon. They will also be hosting a ladies football camp on March 31st from 10a.m. to 2p.m. for all girls under 12. Training for adult teams has now started back - all welcome.

WEEE Ireland

are organising a white goods collection including electrical and household battery items. Currently the dates given by WEEE Ireland are: Gorey - Tesco Car Park: Saturday, March 31st and in Enniscorthy - The Mart: Saturday, March 31st.

Texas Hold'em

Texas hold'em in aid of Scoil Naomh Maodhóg on Friday, March 30th at 8p.m. €25 entry, €20 buy back and €10 top up at half time.
