Ferns Development Association (FDA)

Ferns Development Association is a voluntary group which has been very active over the past number of years.

The Association's biggest annual event is 'An Evening at Ferns Castle'. The event is organised to highlight Ferns as a tourism destination and to raise awareness of the variety of heritage features located in the village. Pictured right in the grounds of Ferns Castle with Bui Bolg knights were (on left) Lucy Medlicott, Bui Bolg and Tara Kerry, Failte Ireland who spoke at the event.

Ferns has a dynamic community with a variety of clubs and voluntary groups and a range of businesses providing a range of goods and services.

Our Association has the following sub-Committees, each with its own focus:

• Community Alert
• Christmas Lights Committee
Ferns Gathering Steering Group

• Ferns Tidy Towns Group

Activities:

• Lobbying to improve infrastructure
• Supporting local community and business
• Raising awareness and conserving our built heritage
  
• Involvement in establishing a Wexford Heritage Trail
• Organising Ferns Gathering 2013
• Promoting Ferns as a tourism destination
